Features: The China-UK Education Measurement Academic Exchange Center (“”) is an institution approved by the State Education Commission. The Center is funded by the University of Cambridge Local Examinations Syndicate (UCLES) and carries out exchanges and cooperation related to education and educational measurement in China and other countries or regions in the Asia-Pacific. This set of teaching materials was specially compiled by experts organized by the Center to complement the《》series textbooks it has introduced. It consists of three volumes, suitable for training for the BEC Preliminary, Vantage, and Higher levels. This book is not a student textbook accompanying the original materials but was written by Chinese teachers based on their teaching experience, catering to the self-study needs of Chinese students and drawing inspiration from the New English Business Communication. To facilitate learning for beginners, the listening texts, explanations, and exercise requirements were translated into Chinese to help students understand the exact meaning. Additionally, appropriate supplements were added to each unit's exercises, and explanations were provided for difficult points in the texts and exercises. Each unit generally includes the following aspects:
Learning Tips: Points out the key learning objectives and methods for each lesson.
Listening: Lists listening prompts and writes their main Chinese meanings to prepare for listening to the recordings.
Explanations: Translates the original textbook's explanation section in full and provides appropriate supplements.
Practice Exercises: Guides students to complete these exercises as required in the textbook, further deepening their understanding of the lesson's key points.
Applying Knowledge: Practice exercises that bridge the gap between the book and real-world application.
Supplementary Exercises: Selected from recently published British and American business English textbooks and rewritten to expose students to various question types and increase practical opportunities.
Translation Exercises: designed narrative paragraph exercises created by the book's compilers for students.
Text Notes and Vocabulary Explanations: Provides necessary explanations targeting the difficulties Chinese students face when learning business English, with detailed examples.
Vocabulary Check: Gives the Chinese meanings of words and phrases from the WordCheck section at the end of each lesson, along with the part of speech of each word.
