What are the symptoms of trichomoniasis?

Patient's question:

Earlier, due to abnormal leukorrhea, excessive amount, and yellowish color, apart from the foul odor, I went to the hospital to see a gynecologist. I underwent a routine leukorrhea examination, and the doctor diagnosed me with trichomoniasis vaginitis. They also prescribed a liquid wash, medication for insertion, and anti-inflammatory medication.

Doctor's answer:

The clinical manifestations of trichomoniasis include: increased vaginal discharge, which is yellowish-green or grayish-yellow, with a foul odor. In severe cases, the discharge may contain blood. Due to inflammation and secretion irritation, symptoms such as vulvar itching, burning, pain, and dyspareunia may reappear. If the inflammation affects the urethra, symptoms such as frequent urination, urgency, dysuria, and hematuria may also occur. If a gynecologist performs a careful examination and finds redness and swelling of the vaginal and cervical mucosa, the vaginal discharge may be tested positive for trichomonads. The symptoms of trichomoniasis include vulvar itching with a burning sensation and dyspareunia.
