To coincide with this theme, the organizing committee of the National Science Week and China Central Television have jointly produced a ten-episode series titled "History of Fighting Epidemics." This series will air during the Science Week.
The "History of Fighting Epidemics" series, through detailed historical materials, presents direct and authoritative facts that showcase humanity's continuous struggle against infectious diseases over thousands of years, including typhoid fever, smallpox, schistosomiasis, leprosy, tuberculosis, plague, malaria, schistosomiasis, cholera, AIDS, and SARS. It depicts the relentless and heroic efforts of humanity in combating epidemics and achieving major breakthroughs in medical history. The program also introduces the latest scientific research achievements of Chinese researchers who have been working tirelessly on the front lines of the SARS fight, relying on science to overcome the epidemic.
Through the long journey of humanity's struggle against epidemics, the series conveys that, just as we have repeatedly fought against other epidemics that once brought great disasters to humanity, as long as we rely on the power of science, humanity can continuously understand and ultimately defeat epidemics.
