Features: To fully understand a country, one must understand its borders. For ordinary people, traveling to the border is never an easy task, which is why there is this series of books specifically written about borders. China is one of the largest countries in terms of land area, bordering 15 land-locked neighboring countries with a total land border of over 22,000 kilometers and a coastline of over 1,800 kilometers. It is one of the countries with the longest border lines, the most neighboring countries, the most complex situations, and the most historical issues. In China's border regions, there are bustling cities and vast grasslands, but more often than not, there are towering mountains, rushing rivers, deep gorges, dense forests, and desolate deserts. Due to the vast expanse of the border regions and the significant differences in natural geographical conditions—including terrain, nature, climate, and ecology—these areas are sparsely populated due to their remoteness and special border management systems. Most people cannot visit in person, shrouding the borders in mystery. The borders covered in this series of books are the counties adjacent to the Chinese side of the border in today's Chinese territory, with some extending to border cities. It is divided into six volumes: Exploring the Mystery of the Border River, Whispers from the Northern Frontier, Visiting Ancient West Sleep, Hunting Shadows in the Snowland, Flowers Flying in the Southern Frontier, and Watching the Tide in the Vast Ocean. This book is composed of various thematic sections, each approaching the topic from the perspectives of human geography and natural geography, striving to present and summarize issues from the perspective of spiritual and cultural values. Exploring the mystery is the requirement of this series, spreading facts that people want to know but do not yet know, helping them witness new landscapes, gain new perspectives, and experience new feelings. There are two ways to read a book: one is to read the hotspots, and the other is to read the ice points. The Yellow River, Huangshan Mountain, Great Wall, and Yangtze River certainly deserve more reading, but the Pamir Plateau, Mount Everest, the Erguna River, and the Zengmu Ansha are even more magnificent, more enigmatic, and more heroic. A person's thinking always starts from their surroundings and then expands to the vast and boundless. Only when one has a holistic sense can they truly understand the entirety, and only then can they better understand themselves. In a sense, only when a person carves their homeland into their soul can they become its best children. Let us open this book to touch the mysterious border lines of our homeland and to experience its unique frontier culture. The content of this book includes: Presenting a White Silk Khatag, The Roof of the Roof on the Roof of the World—Ali, Border Lake Banqin Lake, The Distant Zada Tufeng, Ruins of the Guge Dynasty, Sacred Mountain and Holy Lake, and other topics.
