1. This journal is sponsored by the Key Research Base of Humanities and Social Sciences of the Ministry of Education, East China Normal University Chinese Character Research and Application Center. As a professional academic journal of the center, it strictly adheres to the principles stipulated by the Ministry of Education for the establishment and publication of academic journals by key research bases.
2. The main focus of this issue is the papers presented at the "International Academic Symposium on the Informatization Processing of Ancient Characters" held by the center in October 2001, with an emphasis on the informatization processing and application research of ancient characters. Experts and leaders from the Language and Character Department of the Ministry of Education have contributed a special article, which holds guiding significance for the entire research on the informatization application of Chinese characters.
3. This journal is dedicated to publishing the latest achievements in the study and application of characters, serving authors from both domestic and international academic communities. Please handle the literature data of submitted manuscripts according to international journal standards. For manuscripts involving ancient characters, please consolidate them and provide both diskettes and text files. Since this journal implements a blind peer review system, please separately fill in the author's name, affiliation, and address. The review comments generally fall into the following three categories: (1) Full paper publication; (2) Revised publication; (3) Unsuitable for publication.
