This is because the scientific and cultural knowledge transmitted by modern education forms the foundation of national industry and is also the driving force of social progress. China has a tradition of state involvement in education, but it did not flourish in the modern era. Public education finance in the modern period was significantly lagging behind other countries, resulting in a very limited scale of public education. This paper examines the evolution of the modern Chinese education finance system. By reviewing the process, characteristics, and reasons for the development of modern education finance, it aims to grasp the direction of the modernization of China's education finance.
