Features: Anal and colon surgery includes operations on the anal canal, perianal region, rectum, colon, terminal ileum, and sacral region, involving a wide variety of diseases. Each disease has several surgical options, yet a particular surgery may yield good results for some patients while being less satisfactory for others. Clinicians should be familiar with the indications and techniques of various surgeries before the operation, analyze and research them, and select the best surgical plan. Although there are several surgical guides available both domestically and internationally, they cover fewer surgical types, mostly limited to anal and rectal diseases, and the content is relatively simple and general. Therefore, I have collected modern domestic and international literature and surgical materials, combined with my lifelong practical experience, to compile the book Anal and Colon Surgery Atlas, for reference by colorectal surgeons, general surgeons, and faculty and students of institutions of higher learning. This atlas aims to help readers understand the concepts of various surgeries and guide surgical procedures. It contains 23 chapters and 1,300 illustrations. Chapter 1 is an introduction, briefly outlining the fundamental principles common to anal and colon surgery, such as local anatomy, examination methods, common anesthesia, preoperative preparation, postoperative management, anal anastomosis, and wound closure. The other chapters provide detailed descriptions of modern, widely recognized radical and palliative surgical methods for various diseases, emphasizing surgical indications, contraindications, surgical characteristics, and key steps, arranged in a (picture-text) format for easy comprehension.
