Does using condoms all the time affect pregnancy?

Patient's question:

My wife and I have been married for three years. Recently, we're planning to have a child, but we've been using condoms for contraception to prepare for breastfeeding. I'm concerned that this might affect our fertility, so I'd like to ask if using condoms consistently can interfere with pregnancy?

Doctor's answer:

Using condoms for a long time is not really that good, but using condoms for contraception does not greatly interfere with conception, which is something you don't need to worry about. However, because of the barrier created by condoms, it will inevitably affect normal sexual pleasure. You can also rely on birth control pills and the safe period method. If you are preparing for pregnancy, you should also have a comprehensive pre-pregnancy check-up at a hospital to eliminate all factors that may interfere with pregnancy.
