Why do women get ectopic pregnancy?

Patient's question:

Friend carefully checked out an ectopic pregnancy but didn't know how it was caused, so I wanted to ask you why one would get an ectopic pregnancy?

Doctor's answer:

Generally speaking, if there is pelvic inflammatory disease or tubal inflammation, it is easy to get an ectopic pregnancy because the inflammation facilitates the passage of sperm. After the sperm and the follicle meet, they form a fertilized egg, which may not easily pass through the fallopian tube to the uterine cavity. This makes it easier for implantation to occur outside the uterine cavity, leading to the possibility of ectopic pregnancy. If there is an ectopic pregnancy, it should be treated promptly.
