Can I get pregnant if the left fallopian tube is removed?

Patient's question:

My wife had a problem with her fallopian tubes two years ago. The left one was removed. Hello, will she be able to get pregnant if the left fallopian tube is removed?

Doctor's answer:

Two years ago, tubal ligation surgery was very common, especially for ectopic pregnancy where the left side could be removed without affecting the ability to deliver on that side. However, the right side is unaffected. If there is no inflammation or intestinal obstruction on the right side, then the ovary on that side can still go through menopause normally, and pregnancy can still occur. Since women have both left and right fallopian tubes, damage to one side does not affect the normal ability to deliver on the other side.
