Features: This book is designed based on the requirements of classical Chinese ability training, starting from the easy to the difficult, and progressing systematically. It breaks down the content into four parts: Basic, Exam Points, Sprint, and Answers. It fully embodies the characteristics of "emphasizing fundamentals," "emphasizing ability," and "emphasizing systematic learning."
1. Emphasizing Fundamentals. The "Basic" section is divided into two chapters: "Classical Chinese Grammar" and "Classical Chinese Sentences," covering 20 key points. Each key point is further implemented from three perspectives: "Knowledge Review," "Ability Self-Assessment," and "Memory Enhancement."
- "Knowledge Review": Concise and clear, with detailed analysis.
- "Ability Self-Assessment": Corresponding to knowledge, thorough implementation.
- "Memory Enhancement": Using tables for easy memorization.
2. Emphasizing System. In addition to the key points in the "Basic" section being arranged in order, the 10 exam points in the "Exam Points" section are systematically and comprehensively explained, helping candidates across the country clarify what and how to take the classical Chinese exam. Each exam point is analyzed and trained from four aspects: "Exam Point Brief," "Sample Questions," "Method Guidance," and "Ability Training."
- "Exam Point Brief": Closely aligned with the syllabus, concise and to the point.
- "Method Guidance": Fresh and practical, easy to operate.
- "Sample Questions": Analyzing the details to generalize, learning from one to infer many.
- "Ability Training": Practical questions, effective training.
3. Emphasizing Ability. The "Sprint" section provides 28 new high school simulation tests to strengthen ability training. These tests have two obvious features:
- "Emphasis on Both Language and Literature": Here, "Language" refers to classical Chinese knowledge, such as the understanding of real and virtual words, and the analysis of common sentence patterns; "Literature" mainly refers to the understanding and evaluation of the meaning of classical Chinese passages. Each test consists of 2 classical Chinese passages, one focusing on the "Language" aspect (fundamentals of classical Chinese) and the other on the "Literature" aspect (understanding and evaluation of classical Chinese passages).
- "Diverse Question Types": To accommodate candidates across the country, the selection of simulation tests considers the characteristics of exams in different regions, maximizing the ability to meet students' needs. At the same time, 28 tests are set up, allowing senior high school students to take one test per week in the last year of high school, for practical practice, maintaining their momentum, and preparing for the final sprint.
Additionally, considering the actual learning situation of students in grades 10-11, the book specially provides "notes" and "translations" for each passage in the "Basic" section and offers translations for each classical Chinese passage in the "Answers" section. Most answers also include "hints." Therefore, this book is not only a practical "textbook" for high school students learning classical Chinese but also a helpful "tool" for exam preparation.
