Patient's question:
Doctor, hello. I just finished taking antibiotics yesterday, and now today my leukorrhea has increased. What could be the reason?Doctor's answer:
In many pathological conditions, such as vaginitis and cervical erosion, or genital organ cancer, leukorrhea may show continuous increase and changes in characteristics. Translucent cotton-like leukorrhea with normal appearance is generally considered to be due to endocrine disorders of the ovaries, vaginal gland diseases, or well-differentiated cervical cancer. Greyish-yellow or yellow foamy leukorrhea is usually associated with trichomoniasis, accompanied by external genital itching. Cheesy-like leukorrhea is generally caused by Candida, accompanied by severe itching and burning pain. Greyish-white cloudy vegetation with a fishy odor is usually bacterial vaginosis, with only mild external genital itching.
