Can I still get pregnant normally after an ectopic pregnancy?

Patient's question:

I was pregnant with an ectopic pregnancy last time, and this time I want to get pregnant again. Hello doctor, can I get pregnant after an ectopic pregnancy?

Doctor's answer:

Hello, for conservative treatment of ectopic pregnancy, continuous reexaminations without abnormalities are generally required before pregnancy can be planned. Normal menstruation typically follows this. There is still a possibility of another ectopic pregnancy in subsequent pregnancies. If surgical treatment involves the removal of one ovary, the chances of pregnancy are lower than normal. After reexaminations show no abnormalities, pregnancy can be planned three months post-surgery. If the surgery involves the removal of a localized lesion, the patency of the fallopian tubes should also be rechecked.
