Patient's question:
I have recently been experiencing recurrent episodes of pain, starting from the lumbar-sacral region and lower abdomen, radiating down to the thighs and knees. Over the past couple of days, I couldn't take it anymore and sought a thorough medical examination. The doctor told me I have something. What kind of help is needed: could it be a gynecological tumor?Doctor's answer:
Women who are at higher risk of uterine cancer include postmenopausal women who experienced early menarche or late menopause; those with obesity, diabetes, or hypertension; those with few or no pregnancies; and those who are infertile. Women with irregular menstruation or endometrial cell division are also at risk. For women taking tamoxifen to treat breast cancer, the risk of developing the disease is very low. However, women who take birth control pills are almost twice as likely to develop uterine cancer compared to postmenopausal women who do not take them.
