Is it normal to have bleeding after tubal contrast?

Patient's question:

A friend has a gynecological disease and needs to undergo fallopian tube angiography. It has already been done, and there is some bleeding now. Is bleeding normal after fallopian tube angiography?

Doctor's answer:

Generally speaking, tubal contrast examination does not usually cause vaginal or cervical bleeding again, unless there is a gynecological inflammation, especially cervical inflammation. For example, if the cervical elasticity is relatively poor, even slight contact may cause minimal bleeding. If there is bleeding, the bleeding duration will not be less than one week, and close observation is sufficient. If the bleeding is significant, appropriate hemostatic medication can be used for symptomatic treatment. Abstinence from sexual activity and is recommended to avoid infection.
