Features: China has a vast territory spanning three climate zones—tropical, temperate, and frigid—resulting in a wide variety of fruit tree species and cultivars. The complex and diverse ecological environments have led to an equally abundant range of pests and diseases affecting fruit trees. To further meet the needs of identifying and controlling pests and diseases in fruit cultivation and production, some fruit plant protection professionals from both southern and northern China began systematically and comprehensively photographing ecological color images of fruit tree pests and diseases in places such as Henan, Hebei, Beijing, Liaoning, Shaanxi, Shanxi, Guizhou, Sichuan, Guangdong, and Fujian since the late 1980s. After identification, organization, and selection, this book was compiled.
This illustrated guide is divided into two main parts: Diseases of Chinese Fruit Trees and Pests of Chinese Fruit Trees. It comprehensively records more than 290 diseases and over 360 pests on more than 30 types of fruit trees in China, featuring over 2,000 color photographs. Each major disease and pest species is accompanied by multiple images to showcase symptoms on different parts of the fruit trees and various life stages or damage patterns. The text descriptions include symptoms (morphology), pathogens, occurrence patterns, and control methods, serving as a reference for comparison with the illustrations.
