Am I suffering from bacterial vaginosis?

Patient's question:

These past few days, I've been experiencing severe itching in the external genital area, and the vaginal opening is also painful and itchy. In December, I tested positive for BV, but I didn't pay much attention because it wasn't severe—only occasional itching. Now, over the past two days, it's both painful and itchy, and it hurts a lot. There's a lot of discharge, and it's white. How should I treat this? Please help me, doctor.

Doctor's answer:

Bacterial vaginosis can be divided into Haemophilus vaginalis vaginosis, Corynebacterium vaginallis vaginosis, Bacteroides fragilis vaginosis, Gardnerella vaginalis vaginosis, etc.; this condition is caused by a mixed infection of vaginal Gardnerella and many Bacteroides species. It can be transmitted through sexual contact and has a higher incidence rate among individuals with multiple sexual partners. In clinical diagnosis, careful examination of the discharge smear can reveal a large number of pus cells and identify the pathogenic bacteria, but the discharge will never contain trichomonas or molds. The typical clinical symptoms of this condition include a significant and continuous increase in vaginal discharge, which appears thin, homogeneous, or thin, pasty in consistency, and is grayish-white, grayish-yellow, or milky-yellow with a distinctive fishy odor.
