Features: Landscape design, like architecture and art, is a unique non-verbal communication medium that enhances the quality of the built environment and natural landscape, adhering to traditional standards while meeting public demands. Currently, these complex issues are often addressed with the term "green." This supposedly miraculous approach completely erases the natural diversity of cities and landscapes, simplifying the intricate dynamics of nature into a single, monotonous color. Ian McHarg's book Nature Design, published in the United States in 1969, has been revered by the landscape design industry for decades as a golden rule. Its main principle is to sacrifice the aesthetic appeal of environmental design to meet ecological development needs, as nature is a better designer capable of ensuring the beauty of parks, gardens, and other landscapes on its own. This idea is based on a one-sided, ecocentric view of nature, nearly leading to the complete abandonment of design and artistic requirements in landscape design, resulting in a severe loss of environmental aesthetic expression. Even worse, design lacks conceptual and theoretical depth, often appearing constrained and far from the public's ideal goals, especially distant from the perfection of ecological environments. Only a few landscape designers maintain a trial-and-error mindset, willing to accept failure. Yet, it is only they who are determined to use every means to counter the cultural pessimists' prophecies about history and their lack of confidence in the future, designing living spaces for a better future.
