The second volume covers six infectious diseases: warm plague, diphtheria, scarlet fever, cholera, dysentery, and jaundice plague. The medical cases are complete, including patient gender, age, occupation, disease name, cause, symptoms, diagnosis, treatment, prescriptions, and outcomes. After each case, He Lianchen adds comments and evaluations, providing insights into understanding the pathogenesis and differential diagnosis and treatment of these diseases. The book has a distinctive categorization, with all the collected effective cases being acute febrile diseases. It is a highly influential collection of infectious disease medical cases in China. Existing copies include the first edition, lead-printed versions, and the 1959 printed edition by Shanghai Science and Technology Press.
