Features: The "Russian Painters" series is an important part of our publishing plan, focusing on introducing painters who have a broad influence in the contemporary Russian art scene. These painters enjoy high recognition and numerous admirers in the Chinese art world. The Soviet People's Artist Koltsev, introduced in this issue, is one of them. Koltsev gained prominence in the Soviet art world at a young age, and the earliest work known to us was his triptych "Communists" (comprising "Homer," "The Raising of the Banner," and "The Internationale"), created in the late 1950s. This work, with its solemn theme, grand scale, distinctive character portrayals, and unique creative techniques, has won numerous awards, including the highest honor in Russian art—the Repin Prize. Other works by the artist, such as "People Tormented by War" and "Lovers," also hold significant places in the history of contemporary Russian art.
