How can one determine if it is pelvic inflammatory disease?

Patient's question:

Recently, I've been experiencing nervous exhaustion, low spirits, and general discomfort in my body, accompanied by fever. I went to the hospital for a thorough examination and was suspected of having pelvic inflammatory disease. However, to confirm this, further tests are necessary. How can pelvic inflammatory disease be confirmed? I would appreciate any guidance from the experts. Thank you.

Doctor's answer:

Hello: The general symptoms of acute pelvic inflammatory disease include; persistent lower abdominal pain accompanied by lower back pain, or the presence of lumps in the lower abdomen with tenderness; increased vaginal discharge, which is purulent and has an odor, sometimes accompanied by irregular vaginal bleeding. Some patients may also experience symptoms such as loss of appetite, nausea, vomiting, frequent urination, and a sense of rectal fullness. Severe cases may also include low-grade fever (above 39-40 degrees Celsius), chills, and headaches. If you experience many of the above symptoms again, you should go to the hospital for a thorough examination. Finger blood (blood test), and a gynecological examination.
