What are the causes of appendicitis?

Patient's question:

One side of my lower abdomen has been hurting for several days now, and my white discharge has suddenly increased significantly, with a slightly unpleasant odor and a slightly yellowish color. I mentioned the situation to my family, and my mom took me to the hospital for a thorough examination. They said it was appendicitis, but I'm not married and still in school. I don't know how I could have appendicitis.

Doctor's answer:

Appendicitis refers to inflammation of the fallopian tubes and ovaries. However, tubal and ovarian inflammation often involve adnexal connective tissue inflammation and pelvic peritonitis, and it is difficult to distinguish them during diagnosis. As a result, pelvic peritonitis and adnexal connective tissue inflammation are also included in the scope of appendicitis.
Sometimes, it is related to small surgical procedures with non-sterile operations. At other times, pathogens may be present in the cervix or vagina and spread downward during surgical procedures. Early or frequent sexual activity, or sexual intercourse during menstruation, can also lead to tubal inflammation.
In addition to treating appendicitis, patients are advised to pay attention to their diet and maintain a cheerful mood in daily life.
