Features: This book is a companion to "Japanese Proficiency Test Basic Vocabulary and Examples (Levels 3-4)" and is specifically designed for the Japanese Language Proficiency Test (JLPT) Levels 1-2, hosted by the Japan Foundation and the Japan International Cooperation Agency. It is a comprehensive guide in Japanese for students and working professionals learning Japanese, particularly those preparing for the JLPT. The vocabulary and kanji in this book are primarily selected from the "JLPT Test Specifications (Revised Edition 2002)" published in October 2001, focusing on the Level 1 and 2 sections. According to the "JLPT Test Specifications," the new test guidelines will take effect starting in 2002, and the vocabulary and kanji listed will cover over 80% of those used in the test questions. To better help readers understand the meanings of Level 1-2 vocabulary and master their usage, in addition to a few words with very clear meanings, most entries include corresponding example words or sentences. When selecting examples, we primarily referred to past JLPT test papers, "Dictionary of Basic Japanese Learning," "New Japanese-Chinese Dictionary," and other books, ensuring that the examples align with the Level 1-2 level and reflect modern Japanese usage.
