Features: This textbook is organized and reviewed by the Editorial Committee of the National Administration of Traditional Chinese Medicine for General Higher Education of Traditional Chinese Medicine, and is used for undergraduate teaching in the Traditional Chinese Medicine major of medical colleges across the country. Based on the opinions of the National Administration of Traditional Chinese Medicine on revising the teaching syllabus, the basic principles of compiling planned textbooks, and the experience and suggestions provided by teachers from various colleges in the teaching of "Traditional Chinese Medicine Pharmacy," the syllabus of "Traditional Chinese Medicine Pharmacy" was first carefully revised, then compiled by division, and finally edited and finalized. In terms of content, the textbook strives to highlight the characteristics of traditional Chinese medicine and moxibustion and the current production practices of pharmacy, fully absorbing modern pharmaceutical science and technology and new achievements. It removes some repetitive and impractical content from the previous edition of "Traditional Chinese Medicine Pharmacy" (1986 edition), adds liquid dosage forms, sustained-release preparations, and targeted drug delivery systems, as well as new technologies, processes, equipment, and excipients, and strictly adheres to the current national regulations on traditional Chinese medicine management. In terms of structural arrangement, the textbook pays close attention to the close coordination between theoretical teaching and experimental teaching, and appropriately combines the order of chapters. The entire book consists of twenty-four chapters, which can be roughly divided into five parts after the "Introduction": Part 1: Basic Knowledge of Traditional Chinese Medicine Dispensing (2 chapters); Part 2 focuses on the fundamentals of pharmaceutical preparation, supplemented by extracted dosage forms and liquid dosage forms (chapters 3–8); Part 3: Traditional Chinese Medicine Dosage Forms (chapters 9–19); Part 4: Pharmacy and Efficacy (chapters 20–23); Part 5: Experimental Guidance (chapter 24). During the writing process, although efforts were made to follow the requirements of scientificity, systematicity, practicality, and advancement, due to the urgency of time and the limitations of the authors' level, there may inevitably be inappropriate and incorrect places. We sincerely welcome valuable feedback during use to facilitate revisions and continuously improve the level of "Traditional Chinese Medicine Pharmacy."
