However, if I were to be reborn again, I would still be Chang Shuhong, and I would still want to complete the work that remains unfinished. The unparalleled Dunhuang art is the most brilliant gem of Chinese culture. Chang Shuhong, a renowned artist from both China and abroad who contributed significantly to Dunhuang art, is a model for Chinese intellectuals. For this, he was praised by Zhao Puchu as the "Guardian of Dunhuang." This book is a biography of Chang Shuhong written by the famous writer Ye Wenling over many years of careful creation. With a unique artistic perspective and elegant prose, it depicts the profound bond between Chang Shuhong and Dunhuang, reveals the turbulent journey of his heart throughout his life, and showcases the vibrant "Buddhist Transformation Murals" spanning nearly a century. It also explores his love and married life. His love is filled with romance, and his unique and persistent devotion to love is deeply moving. Faced with the magnificent Dunhuang, one cannot help but feel their heart tremble; faced with the glorious ninety years of the guardian deity, one cannot help but weep for his life. The work is rich in historical detail, brimming with poetic and artistic imagery, and is highly readable.
