Features: Strange Tales from a Chinese Studio consists of 590 stories, with approximately half being long and the other half short. Most of the long stories have been adapted into various art forms such as plays and films, while the short stories are often overlooked. Mr. Wang Hongli has studied Strange Tales from a Chinese Studio for decades and deeply feels that the short stories and appendices possess the same artistic expressiveness. Their conciseness is like that of a prose piece, and their sharpness is like that of a dagger. Although some are cloaked in (superstitious) elements, their satire is extremely strong, and their humor is also enough to make one laugh out loud. When Mr. Wang Hongli first started painting, he often hesitated due to difficulties in handling certain artistic challenges. Later, he finally broke through with the story "Medicine Monk," creating 20 illustrations that combined text and art. Encouraged by a close friend, he added 40 more illustrations, resulting in Sixty Short Stories from Strange Tales from a Chinese Studio.
