Form and Shape

Features: The study of abstract forms has always been a gap in the foundational courses of traditional academic painting in China. Abstract is a concept relative to concrete, with no inherent praise or criticism. Abstract and concrete are different expressions of art forms, with no hierarchy. Even from a certain perspective, the boundary between abstract and concrete is unclear and fluid. However, as a study of visual basic language, it should not have been a gap in the teaching system of Chinese academia in the 21st century. Perhaps our works are not particularly outstanding, and perhaps no wise conclusions have been drawn theoretically—it is merely a note. It simply records the origin and process of a new topic, capturing the vivid intuition and traces left by spontaneity. Yet, it is precisely this process that is full of charm and leaves a lasting impression—when the inner desires of both teachers and students align; when their inspiration converges; when once-closed mental spaces become open and transparent. It seems we have pushed open a door, revealing a brilliant world beyond, ing endless new possibilities.
