The reason was a change in plans: Initially, I only provided a list of names and materials, meaning I remained invisible. As the publication approached, Baihua Press asked me to cooperate, requiring me to serve as the editor and evaluate each author. I had no choice but to comply. Among these authors, my situation is special because I am a teacher, and specifically, a literature theorist. Contemporary literary theory discusses not literature itself but literaryity. Simply put, I am as far removed from literature as a mountain is from a sea. Writing novels, essays, and poetry is my relaxation and pastime. Therefore, I can say here: one Zhao Yiheng evaluating another Zhao Yiheng. If any reader finds this absurd, why not attend my lectures? Contemporary theory fears no strong arguments, only arguments without substance. In this regard, it aligns with the spirit of literary writing.
