How to treat uterine fibroids urgently?

Patient's question:

Previously diagnosed, two myomas were found on the anterior and posterior walls of the uterus, measuring 14x10mm and 24x22mm respectively. How can effective treatment be provided? Thank you.

Doctor's answer:

The treatment of uterine fibroids should be comprehensively considered based on the patient's age, fertility plans, symptoms, and the location, size, and number of fibroids. Asymptomatic fibroids generally do not require treatment, especially in women near menopause, as fibroids after menopause often expand or gradually disappear. Follow-up every 3 to 6 months is recommended. If symptoms reappear, they are mild, the patient is near menopause, or the overall condition is not suitable for surgery, medication treatment is suggested. Medications include gonadotropin-releasing hormone analogs, as well as drugs like mifepristone. Surgical treatment is mainly applicable in the following cases: excessive menstrual bleeding leading to secondary anemia that is unresponsive to medication treatment; severe abdominal pain, dyspareunia, or chronic abdominal pain with acute pain caused by the torsion of pedunculated fibroids; or symptoms of bladder or rectal compression.
