Here is the translation: The Legend of Eileen Chang

Features: The influence of Eileen Chang has endured for half a century. What kind of charm lies hidden in her life, and what emotions does her work truly capture, to so deeply resonate with Chinese people across different times and spaces? Eileen Chang embodies the shadows of three dynasties. Her family background creates a connection with the last feudal dynasty in China, while her own life is intertwined with the turmoil of the Warlord Era and the self-exile of some intellectuals during the Socialist era. As for her works, no matter how the themes or life change, the theme remains "desolation" – a profound sense of desolation born from the chaos of wartime. Of course, her worldly orientation as a woman and her indifference to politics may have deeply moved Chinese people suffering from political turmoil. Eileen Chang has led Chinese people to rediscover the poetic colors of everyday life – for it is only in daily life that one can grasp a glimpse of eternity. Eileen Chang is not a writer who can bear the title of "great," and there is much debate surrounding both her life and her literature. In this book, I hope to adopt a humanistic stance and an academic attitude, placing Eileen Chang within a broad context to present her life and the significance of her creations in a multidimensional way. Whether it is the accounts of Eileen Chang's life or the evaluation of her works, the goal of this book is not merely to describe, but to interpret. There may be biases, but they are entirely genuine insights from the heart.
