Is ectopic pregnancy dangerous?

Patient's question:

I used a pregnancy test a couple of days ago and it came back positive. I tried it again today and it showed the same result. So I went to the hospital for a thorough check-up. They couldn't see anything on the ultrasound and said it might be an ectopic pregnancy.

Doctor's answer:

In medicine, the estimated time of conception is calculated from the first day of the last menstrual period. Around 35 days after conception, a gestational sac should be visible within the uterine cavity. If the gestational sac is not visible, it is important not to rule out the possibility of an ectopic pregnancy, as ectopic pregnancies may be detected as masses outside the uterine cavity. A blood test to check HCG levels can also assist in confirming the diagnosis.
Additionally, during the treatment of ectopic pregnancy, the patient's dietary condition and care are also very important. The patient must ensure adequate vitamin intake, prevent diarrhea, and maintain a light diet to avoid unnecessary harm.
