Features: To quickly respond to major management issues in the economic, technological, and social development of concern to the Party Central Committee and the State Council, and to promptly provide policy recommendations for high-level scientific decision-making by the Party and the government, the National Natural Science Foundation of China has established Emergency Research Funds for Management Science since 1996. These funds are used to support research on significant comprehensive issues that urgently need to be addressed in the high-level macro-management and development strategies of the nation, as well as related "hot" and "difficult" issues in economic, technological, and social development. From the perspective of management science, researching problems of concern to national leaders and the public, as well as those that experts and scholars worry about and feel the need to resolve, is the core mission of emergency research; exploring the theoretical foundation, evaluating international experiences, refining the overall framework, and analyzing implementation challenges are key tasks of emergency research; prioritizing efficiency while ensuring fairness and justice are the principles for selecting research teams, and safeguarding the construction of the socialist market economy system and advancing China's reform and development are the goals of emergency research.
