Is it dangerous to have a D&C?

Patient's question:

I accidentally had a miscarriage a few days ago, a three-month-old baby. I want to ask if it's dangerous to have a D&C after a miscarriage? Can it be done?

Doctor's answer:

If there are improper activities during the early stages of pregnancy, it may lead to the possibility of accidental miscarriage. Since you have already experienced an accidental miscarriage, it is necessary to undergo careful examinations such as a color ultrasound after the miscarriage to assess the intrauterine condition. If there are residual tissues that are relatively large within the uterus, medication may not be able to expel them, and a Dilation and Curettage (D&C) procedure may be required. The D&C procedure also carries certain risks.
