Can you get pregnant using a contraceptive?

Patient's question:

I am 29 years old this year and have a 2-year-old child. After discussing it with my wife, we decided not to have any more children, so we are considering using a valuable contraceptive. However, we only heard from a friend that it is valuable and are not very sure. We would like to ask the doctor if using a contraceptive can lead to pregnancy?

Doctor's answer:

If you decide not to have children in the future, you can choose to use contraceptive medication or condoms to prevent pregnancy. As you mentioned, contraceptive suppositories are relatively less common in clinical diagnosis. Generally, condoms are considered the only safe, effective, and side-effect-free option. Another option is to directly perform tubal ligation surgery on employees or at the fallopian tube location. Especially for those who are certain they will not have children in the future, tubal ligation is the recommended choice.
