Features: The compilation of The Chinese Daoist Canon represents the first systematic and standardized revision of Daoist scriptures in China in nearly five centuries since the Ming Dynasty's Dao Zang. It was included in the "Fifteenth Five-Year Plan" National Key Book Publishing Project and was published in a hardcover edition in 2004. The Chinese Daoist Canon not only carries the historical and belief content of Daoism but also includes literary resources on traditional Chinese philosophy, science and technology, social customs, ethics, and healthcare. Based on the Ming Dynasty's Zhengtong Dao Zang and Wanli Xuda Dao Zang as its foundation while maintaining the basic framework of the Three Caves and Four Auxiliaries, the canon was revised according to modern reading habits and book organization rules, divided into seven major categories: The True Scriptures of the Three Caves, The True Scriptures of the Four Auxiliaries, Daoist Treatises, Daoist Practices, Daoist Rituals, Daoist Historical Accounts of Immortals, and a Catalogue. The entire canon follows two editorial formats: one is proofreading, which involves adding modern punctuation marks and necessary textual corrections to complete collections; the other is collation and supplementation, which, based on proofreading, uses multiple incomplete scrolls to cross-collate and reconstruct missing parts, while also adding dozens of previously uncollected Daoist texts from before the Ming Dynasty.
