Compiling a dictionary of standardized Chinese usage involves extensive research on each Chinese word, and this field is still in its early stages in China. To date, there is no comprehensive dictionary that marks the part of speech and word formation method for all modern Chinese words, leaving many issues unaddressed. For many words, we are the first to mark their part of speech and word formation method, and we are also the first to examine and summarize their grammatical features, stylistic connotation, and emotional connotation. Based on our own expertise and referencing the research of experts and scholars, we have provided exploratory answers to these issues. Therefore, this dictionary undoubtedly has many shortcomings and errors, which are inevitable. We sincerely welcome criticism and corrections from experts, scholars, and (the general public).
During the compilation of this dictionary, we referred to relevant books and reference materials, especially the《Modern Chinese Dictionary》 for the definitions. We extend our heartfelt gratitude to all the contributors involved in the writing process.
