The classic fighter jets selected in this book are those that have been fully developed, mass-produced, and widely used in fighter jet history. From these, 10 of the most classic fighter jets are chosen for evaluation. It should be noted that some aircraft, though named fighter jets or containing the term "fighter" in their designation, were actually used as attack aircraft or other types in practice and are not included in this selection. For example, the U.S. F-117 stealth fighter is categorized under attack aircraft.
