Features: This book presents various types of U.S. visas in a question-and-answer format, offering an in-depth yet accessible and rigorous explanation. The content is both based on written regulations and the author's personal experience. The book does not cover all U.S. visas but selects some categories frequently applied for by Chinese citizens for analysis. Considering the significant proportion of students and exchange scholars studying in the U.S., the introductions to student and exchange scholar visas are slightly more detailed. Without a doubt, the U.S. is a world power, exerting a pivotal influence on the world in terms of politics, economy, education, and culture. Politically, while it may not dominate every decision, no country considers the U.S. perspective when speaking in the United Nations without giving it due weight. Economically, although there are still homeless people on the streets, the U.S. has consistently held the highest GDP in the world , with no signs of being challenged in the near future. In education, with nearly 3,000 institutions of higher learning, though some may be of questionable quality, elite universities like Harvard remain renowned and command respect. Socially, while some dark aspects are occasionally exposed, no one denies the freedom and comfort of American society. As a result, the U.S. attracts people from around the world for tourism, business, study, work, and even settlement and immigration. Chinese citizens are no exception. However, applicants often encounter various difficulties when applying for U.S. visas, leaving them feeling uncertain and helpless. In fact, U.S. visas are based on legal, rational, and contextual grounds, and applicants should not view them with prejudice. A visa rejection must have a reason—whether due to incomplete documents, suspicion of fraud, or issues with the applicant themselves. In any case, visa officers have the "justification" to refuse a visa out of distrust. What we can do is strive to gain their trust. Therefore, to successfully obtain a visa, one must understand U.S. visa requirements.
