How long after an abortion can cervical erosion be treated?

Patient's question:

Recently, I found out I have cervical erosion and wanted to go to the hospital for treatment. But earlier, because the child I was carrying had a genetic disease, I had an abortion. I want to know how long after the abortion can I treat cervical erosion? Also, will the abortion have any impact on the treatment?

Doctor's answer:

If you have just had a miscarriage, don't rush to treat cervical erosion, because cervical erosion doesn't necessarily need to be treated. Menstruation will usually occur about a month after the miscarriage. After the menstrual period is clean for 3 to 7 days, you can do a cervical screening. If the cervical screening results are normal and the possibility of cervical lesions is ruled out, and you have no symptoms of cervical erosion, then treatment is not needed. If you do have symptoms, you can start treatment after one month of menstruation.
