Can a mild cervical erosion get pregnant?

Patient's question:

Last summer, for a while, my leukorrhea was very abnormal, with a lot more discharge and a bad odor. Later, after a thorough examination, it was found to be cervical erosion. I also took medication for a period of time and didn't follow up. Now my husband and family are urging me to have a child. Does mild cervical erosion affect pregnancy?

Doctor's answer:

Generally, mild cervical erosion will never affect pregnancy, but excessive leukorrhea may lead to cervical inflammation and vaginitis. Inflammation may attack sperm and affect pregnancy. It is recommended that you first go to a formal hospital for a gynecological examination. If there is inflammation, you need to actively treat it. After the inflammation is cured, you can take folic acid orally and get pregnant three months later. Cervical erosion is believed to be physiological and does not require treatment.
