During the Ming Dynasty, Japanese pirates frequently (harassed) China's coastal regions. The people called them "Wokou" and both hated and feared them. One year, in a rural area of Shaoxing, a boat captain named Yao Changzi was captured by Wokou. To protect his hometown and people, he risked his life, leading the pirates into a dead end. Although the pirates killed him out of revenge, the entire band was eventually captured by local farmers and soldiers. Yao Changzi's heroic reputation has been passed down in folklore. Historical records about him can be found in Zhang Dai's "Lianghuan Collection," "Three Immortal Figures of Yue," and the "Shanyin County Gazetteer." This comic book collection was created based on these sources. Originally published by the People's Fine Arts Publishing House in 1958, this revised edition has been re-published as part of the "Ancient Story Picture Collection" series by Comic Book Publishing House to meet the needs of comic book enthusiasts.
