Features: "Xiangxi" has three concepts. One is a geographical concept, referring to the western part of Hunan Province, the Yuanshui and Lishui river basins, which includes the Xiangxi Tujia and Miao Autonomous Prefecture, Huaihua City, Zhangjiajie City, and Changde City. In ancient times, it was known as "Miao Territory," a place inhabited by ethnic minorities such as the Miao. It is the heartland of mainland China, bordered by Dongting Lake to the east, Sichuan and Guizhou to the west, and Guangxi to the south. It is characterized by numerous hills and fewer plains, with rolling mountains and rugged terrain. It has been an important border defense stronghold since ancient times. The book primarily introduces the Xiangxi based on this concept.
