Features: This book systematically introduces VPNs and the types of VPNs that can meet the needs of building a secure network platform. It elaborates on the technologies supporting the construction of VPN networks, their respective characteristics, existing issues, and solutions. The book focuses on the relationship and methods between VPN technology and network security. It is divided into two parts. Part includes the introduction and Chapters 1 to 3, focusing on discussing VPN concepts, VPN applications, VPN technology architecture, the concept of secure VPNs, and the use of secure VPNs to build secure network platforms. The second part includes the remaining chapters of the book, categorically detailing the technologies and mechanisms supporting the construction of VPN networks, as well as related authentication service mechanisms. The book provides as much description as possible on security risks and countermeasures related to these mechanisms. The concepts of secure VPNs, the argument that VPNs are not equivalent to network security, and the idea of using VPNs to support the construction of secure network platforms are all summaries of the author's unit and the author's own experience in recent years in technical and product R&D, representing entirely the author's personal views. We welcome criticism and discussion to promote further research on this issue.〖JP〗Part of the book was planned and primarily written by Dai Zongkun, with Dai Yunyan participating in text entry and proofreading; Tang Sanping primarily wrote the second part of the book and the appendix.During the writing process of this book, we received environmental support from Sichuan Chuanda Nengshi Information Security Co., Ltd. and specific assistance from all members of the Information Security Research Institute of Sichuan University.
