Features: This book is a textbook specifically dedicated to computer communication. It offers comprehensive content and clear, in-depth explanations, starting from basic data communication theory and progressing to the application of data communication in networks, layer by layer, fully elaborating on the fundamental theories of computer communication. The book is divided into 11 chapters, primarily covering: fundamentals of data communication technology, transmission media, error control coding methods, flow control, error control techniques, multiplexing techniques, bandpass transmission and modulation techniques, OSI model, physical layer interfaces and standards, data communication link protocols, binary synchronous communication procedure (BSC), high-level data link control procedure (HDLC), common hardware devices in computer communication, and computer network architecture. Finally, it concludes with ICP/P as an application summary of the entire book. This book discards the traditional writing style of communication textbooks, emphasizing the integration of computer and communication, theory and practice, and communication and networks to meet the needs of modern communication technology courses. The book has the following writing features: (1) Each chapter begins with an overview and concludes with a summary. (2) Each chapter includes review questions and exercises, with answers to some of the exercises provided at the end. (3) The illustrations in the book adopt a three-dimensional style to enhance the aesthetic appeal and reading experience. (4) To better support teaching, we are currently developing a virtual communication experiment system with this book, which will help students better understand the content of computer communication. This book is suitable for students majoring in computer science, communication engineering, electronics, automation, and instrumentation, as well as professionals engaged in computer communication technology.
