This book covers a long historical span, from the Jin Dynasty and the Northern and Southern Dynasties to the contemporary era (2000), spanning over a thousand years with rich content. For easy reference, it is divided into three parts: Upper, Middle, and Lower. The Upper Part is a collection of ancient coin books, starting from the Jin Dynasty and the Northern and Southern Dynasties and ending in the late Qing Dynasty, arranged in chronological order of the authors' lifetimes or publication dates. The Middle Part is a collection of coin books after the modern era, including the modern part which covers from the success of the 1911 Xinhai Revolution to the eve of the founding of the People's Republic of China in 1949. The contemporary part collects coin books published by more than 100 publishing houses across the country from the founding of the People's Republic of China to April 2000. Although the contemporary part covers only fifty years, there are many coin catalogs with a wide variety of types, so it is first categorized and then arranged in chronological order. The categorization method refers to traditional coin book classification methods and current actual situations, divided into seven categories: General Discussions, Series Coin Books, Ancient Coins, Silver and Gold Coins, Copper Coins, Banknotes, and Circulating Commemorative Coins. Spent coins do not belong to currency, so they are included as an appendix. The Lower Part is a collection of world coin books, all arranged in chronological order of publication.
