It is primarily intended for use by five-year undergraduate students majoring in TCM and acupuncture/mma in TCM universities.
The textbook is divided into three parts—Part One, Part Two, and Appendix—with a total of twelve chapters. Part One is the General Theory, which includes Introduction, the Relationship between Ears, Nose, and Throat and Internal Organs and Meridians, an Overview of Etiology and Pathogenesis of Ears, Nose, and Throat Diseases, Key Points of Diagnosis for Ears, Nose, and Throat Diseases, and an Overview of the Treatment of Ear, Nose, and Throat Coffee Disease. It serves as the framework of the book and covers the fundamental theoretical aspects of TCM otolaryngology. Part Two is the Specific Theory, which discusses diseases of the ears, nose, and throat in detail. For each disease, it provides an overview, etiology and pathogenesis, diagnosis, syndrome differentiation, treatment, prevention and care, prognosis and nursing, and references. This is the core content that should be emphasized in teaching. Appendix introduces related knowledge, covering applied anatomy and physiology of ears, nose, and throat, common examination techniques for ears, nose, and throat, commonly used therapeutic procedures in otolaryngology, and the TCM anatomical terminology of ears, nose, and throat.
