Patient's question:
These past few days, I went to the hospital for a thorough examination, and the doctor suspected that I might have an ovarian tumor. Therefore, it is recommended that I undergo a detailed examination for an ovarian tumor. However, as this is my first time undergoing such an examination, I don't really know how it is performed. So, I would like to ask what an ovarian tumor examination is like?Doctor's answer:
If there is a suspicion of an ovarian tumor, it is considered necessary to undergo a detailed gynecological ultrasound examination. In some cases, a magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) examination may also be required. Additionally, blood tests for tumor markers, such as blood CA125, AFP, HCG, etc., should be conducted to roughly determine the benign or malignant nature of the tumor. For cysts smaller than 5 centimeters, or solid-cystic tumors, or solid tumors, surgical treatment is recommended in a timely manner.
