City Leisure Green Map Catalog

Author: Wang Hao et al.
Publisher:
Publish Date: 2000-02-01
Features: When engaged in planning and design work, the author often struggles with how to best express certain landscape forms. Limited by their expertise, they propose several options, including traditional plaza-style, small garden-style, and recreational green space-style. Surprisingly, the client often selects the recreational green space design. This phenomenon has drawn our high attention, and we frequently discuss its root causes with colleagues. In summary, we have formed a few preliminary impressions:
1. The idea of "people-oriented urban construction" has been truly recognized by leaders at all levels and the general public.
2. Green environmental landscapes are more favored by the general public compared to hard-surface landscapes.
3. Modern urban dwellers prefer open, layered, and simple green spaces.
When teaching the "Landscape Planning and Design" course, local technical personnel and students often request practical materials related to recreational green space design from the author. This led to the writing of this book. The content primarily consists of project proposals and teaching achievements compiled by the author over the years. Some case studies were collected through on-site surveys and other means. This book is part of the "Modern Landscape Design Series" and includes numerous urban recreational green space designs. The book is divided into four parts: urban cultural center recreational green spaces, urban commercial center recreational green spaces, urban general recreational green spaces, and urban recreational green space case studies. Each design is accompanied by detailed textual descriptions, making them easy to understand. This book provides urban planners and designers with rich and practical resources for recreational green space design.
