Is there a birth control pill for men?

Patient's question:

I and my boyfriend haven't planned to get married or have children yet, but he doesn't like wearing a condom during sex, so I have to take birth control pills every time. However, recently I've noticed that my menstrual cycle has become severely irregular. The doctor advised me not to take birth control pills anymore. For this reason, I would like to consult if there are male birth control pills available.

Doctor's answer:

Hello, contraception is a lifelong matter. Common methods include condoms, birth control pills, and sterilization surgery. Additionally, there are also intrauterine devices. For birth control pill trials, the current focus is mainly on long-acting and short-acting birth control pills used by women. There are no male birth control pills currently being invested in for clinical diagnostic use. Scientists have conducted related trials, but none have produced truly reliable medications for male contraception.
