American Law Newsletter. Issue 2

Author: Lin Xiaoyun
Publisher:
Publish Date: 2004-03-01
Features: As the name implies, this journal primarily focuses on introducing the development trends of American law. While it includes some theoretical articles, it places greater emphasis on the practical operation of American law in reality. To effectively fulfill its role as a "communication" platform, we have introduced two new columns, "Legislation and Judicial Updates" and "Case Tracking," starting from this issue. In the future, we will gradually enrich this content. In this issue, Mr. Pan Changhe from China University of Political Science and Law and Ms. Pan Yuming from the editorial department have collected and compiled legislative and judicial dynamics in areas such as import and export and intellectual property, which should be beneficial to domestic readers interested in the new developments in American law.
Book reviews are an indispensable component of any high-quality legal journal, but they remain a weak point for us at present. To address this shortcoming, we have introduced two monographs on the same topic—reform of the current litigation system in the United States—but with entirely opposing viewpoints. We hope this will serve as a catalyst for further contributions from our learned readers. To enhance readability, we have also selected and compiled historical anecdotes, portraits of notable figures, legal industry rumors, and snippets of miscellaneous stories, all in the hope of providing domestic readers with a comprehensive window into American law.
This book provides a relatively focused, comprehensive, and systematic introduction to the historical origins, development trends, and dynamics of American law. It serves as a platform for researchers and practitioners of American law to showcase their achievements and experiences, while also offering domestic readers a lens through which to understand American law.
